Club Socials
Between April and October, the Paradise Pointe Yacht Club plans to hold monthly socials for the general membership and their guests on the second Saturday of every month. The usual meeting time and place is 6:00 pm at the picnic area overlooking the docks at Sailboat Cove on Smithville Lake near Paradise, Missouri. If you don't see anyone there, check the gazebo on the north side of the point. The spring and fall socials sometimes begin at 5:00 pm due to the cooler temperatures expected. Most socials are potluck and BYOB, but a few 'pay-if-you-go' dinners to defray costs are usually scheduled during the year. Watch this web page for details, RSVP instructions, and schedule changes.
Over the winter months, we hope to meet a time or two, keeping in touch, waiting for spring.

When: Saturday, October 22nd (IMPORTANT! This month the date changed to the 4th Saturday in October instead of the 2nd Saturday!)
Time: 6 PM
Place: The Carver's at 1604 Sophie Drive, Smithville, MO 64089 (on the west side of Smithville lake by the Paradise Pointe Golf Course and the Little Platte Marina).
TAKE NOTE OF THE DATE CHANGE! The October social was changed to the 4th Saturday of the Month! The main dish will be provided. Please bring the a side-dish or dessert.

Directions:
From 169 Highway, just north of Smithville proper, turn on NE 180th Street at the sign directing you toward the Little Platte Marina and the Paradise Pointe Golf Course. Watch out for any deer along NE 180th Street!
At the stop sign where NE 180th and Highway F meet, continue straight ahead toward the lake. In a short distance, F Highway will curve to the left. Stay straight on NE 180th Street, always keeping toward the marina and the golf course. DO NOT continue on F as it curves left back to the north!
You are almost there! Just before the golf course entrance, turn left on Rollins Drive into Rollins Landing. Just before Rollins Drive ends, turn left on Sophie Drive. Look for the sixth house from the corner on your right.
Park on the street. Two houses farther down Sophie Drive, there is also parking on the right by the swimming pool.
If you are coming from Sailboat Cove or Paradise on W Highway, after crossing the bridge over the lake and before you reach 169 Highway, turn left on F Highway. If you reach 169 Highway, you have gone too far. Stay on F until NE 180th Street. You will eventually see Rollins Landing on your left. Stay on F and turn left at the signs for the marina and golf course, then follow the directions above (turning left on Rollins Drive and, then, left on Sophie Drive).

- Annual Sweet 16 Cleanup Day
Sunday, May 22nd (Makeup Date: Saturday, May 28th)
Time: 9 AM
Place: Sailboat Cove at Smithville Lake
Volunteers are needed to make quick work cleaning up the club's small Sweet 16 fleet. We clean and prep the boats every year as a courtesy and 'welome to sailing' gesture. The more who pitch in the faster the job gets done. If you have a power washer, you are welcome to bring it along. Lunch is provided.
Sunday, May 28th is the alternate date if the weather is bad on Saturday.
- Sail a Snark Day
When: Saturday, July 23rd
Time: 11 am
Place: Sailboat Cove at Smithville Lake
Come and sail these small boats around the cove or bring a lawn chair and watch the fun! Wear a swimsuit, water shoes, and bring a life vest.
